Durran Godsgrief

In the Age of Heroes, so the stormlands tell it, Durran took a goddess of the sea to wife and was answered with storms that tore down every castle he raised. He built again, and again, six times over, until the seventh fortress stood — walls so thick and so cunningly curved that the sea itself could not find purchase.

That seventh castle is Storm's End, and Robert Baratheon was born inside it. Whether Durran existed at all matters less than what the story says about the people who kept telling it: a house whose founding legend is a man refusing, out of sheer stubbornness, to stop rebuilding in the face of divine disapproval. Ours is the Fury indeed.
